From the moment you walk through the gates, the experience begins. The colourful, recycled and repurposed decor, the open air, traditional kitchen, the welcoming staff, and the setting of the restaurant within the township itself. That the proceeds from the experience go toward helping fund the education of the township children is to be commended, and their performance during dinner was perfect! The food and its origins are explained to you before you are seated, the combination of tastes and use of local produce and traditional recipes with a twist, is perfection. This place was highly recommended to us, and I will pass that recommendation on. Definitely a must-do, when in Vic Fall.

After 2 weeks of eating familiar western food throughout our trip we wanted to finish with a more authentic dining experience - and Dusty Road did not disappoint! The food was all well explained along with the local ingredients, and we could, see it being prepared in front of us. The whole setting is very quirky and uses recycled materials wherever possible. The 3 course dinner consists of a starters board which is brought to the table, a buffet main course, and a selection of deserts and teas & coffees which are brought to the table. There is a drinks menu with a selection of local beers, wines and soft drinks. The owner is inspiring and has clearly done so much for the local community. It ... Read More

Chikunto Safari Lodge is definitely a gem in South Luangwa Park. Wonderfully comfortable accommodations, Michelin-worthy meals, a welcoming friendly staff, and some of the best bush guides I've ever met. I have stayed at other safari lodges in Africa at nearly triple the cost and Chikunto easily met those standards. My room was extremely clean and comfortable, the showers were wonderful with ample pressure and really hot water, the hot water bottle for keeping the bed warm actually stayed warm all night, and same day laundry service. I had failed to bring the correct electrical adapter, which might have been a bit of a disaster, but the lodge loaned me two adapters for my room. WiFi is bu... Read More

Wow! What an absolutely breathtaking experience! Nestled in the valley of the leopard, we had the incredible opportunity to sleep under the twinkling stars on the sleep out deck. It was truly a surreal experience, feeling so close to nature and the vast African sky above us. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, treating us to an amazing dinner and even introducing us to Zambia Gin, a delightful local specialty. And the best part? Hippos everywhere! It was like something out of a dream, with these majestic creatures gracing the landscape around us. And of course, we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the elusive leopards, adding an extra layer of excitement to ... Read More

I recently spent a few days at this wonderful luxury camp, in such a remote and beautiful part of The Kafue.
Thanks to Andrea, Katy and team for taking such good care and treating me with the most delicious cuisine.
The wild and remote location offers a private concession feel, but with an abundance of wildlife in the region.
A true gem. Thanks again for a wonderful time.
